A Brief History of Paige

Paige Ellen, that's what we decided to call our little bundle of joy! Paige arrived on the 17th May 2013 at 18.53pm, the happiest yet most surreal moment in my life, and it has been non stop ever since!

Both Nicola and myself are first time parents and quickly found ourselves panicking. We were assured this was normal. Paige was born via water birth in the local hospital. She hardly made a sound the day she arrived, just a tiny cry after her vitamin K injection.

We ventured home as a family for the first time around midday on the 18th. It was just as though the hospital delivered her, gave us a bed, then sent us on our way! Once we arrived home the first thing we did was put Paige in her swing. This made our cat extremely curious, she just sat there watching Paige for just short of an eternity. This was the start of something beautiful, for everyone.

Over the coming weeks nothing really happened, Paige steadily got bigger, we got more competent as parents, and everything was great.

More time passed and Paige became more fun! She learnt things quicker and quicker and soon it was time for her to attempt the impossible, moving around....a lot! It was just before Christmas 2012 that she finally started to crawl, a day we hoped wouldn't come so quickly, but, it was inevitable I suppose. With time came confidence, and with more time came more confidence. She was ready for the big one. Paige took her first ever step at 9 months old, and by 11 months had officially conquered walking!

For her first birthday we decided to throw a small party for Nic's friends who had babies at similar ages. Paige got so many lovely presents, all the things a one year needs. You know the stuff, a trampoline, a trike, that kind of thing! That really brings us up to speed. She has most of the teeth she is meant to have, doesn't really whine, eats all day long, and has two parents that adore her! Oh and a cat too!
